16 years
leading products and shaping design education.
My work runs on two tracks: shipping and stewardship. I lead AI products at Microsoft, and I bring what that teaches me into how design is taught and governed. Shipping keeps my stewardship honest, and stewardship keeps my shipping principled.
In industry, I design within Copilot & Core Experiences for Microsoft AI. Most recently I led People Companion, a Microsoft 365 Companion app, from concept to launch. The tools and the tempo keep changing; the standard doesn't. I work at the system level, aligning teams so the whole feels intentional rather than stitched together: one coherent experience people can trust.
In academia, I sit where the standards get set: the Senate at Emily Carr University, the advisory board at Vancouver Film School, and UX/UI program evaluation at private post-secondary institutions for the Government of BC. I bring current practice into the rooms where curriculum and policy get decided, working alongside educators whose depth I count on, so students graduate ready for the industry they're actually entering. Developing designers isn't a side effect of the work; it is the work.
Let's connect
I'm based in Vancouver, BC, and what still pulls me in is a hard problem and a sharp team around it. If you lead design, teach it, or build with it, I'd love to compare notes on LinkedIn.
Principles
01 Build bridges

I connect teams that don't usually talk. I listen hard, translate across agendas, and turn fragmented effort into aligned momentum.
02 Lead by example

Growth comes from trying, failing, and reflecting. I do it myself, openly, so my team and students can do the same.
03 Get it across the finish

I take work from undefined to done, whatever it takes. Products, programs, or initiatives, I hold the line on quality and see them through.
04 Intuitive by default

Good design is effortless to use. I build experiences that feel obvious without instruction, accessible to everyone from the start.
05 Craft excellence

Details are the foundation. Considered, intentional craft is what separates good work from great work.
06 Make clarity

Ambiguity doesn't slow me down. It's where I do my best work. I find the through-line in complex problems and turn it into direction teams can act on.
07 Systemic coherence

Everything should work together. Consistency across experiences, teams, and touchpoints is what makes work feel intentional and trustworthy.
08 Build the field

I treat developing designers and students as building the field itself. Teaching, mentoring, and advocacy aren't extras. They're how the work continues past me.
