"When creating great experiences, it's not so much about doing what users expect. Instead, it's about creating a design that clearly meets their needs at the instant they need it." — Jared Spool
Design should be functional and intuitive.
Throughout my career as a multidisciplinary designer and educator, I have carried this user-centred approach with me.
Since earning my bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2010, I have worked as a designer in e-commerce, tech, and creative agency settings. I also have taught communication design for post-secondary students, helping them find their own voice in design.
In my collaborations with diverse clients on various projects across Canada, my mission remains the same no matter the project: to create unique, accessible design experiences that positively affect individuals, communities, and values.
I am both detail-oriented and empathetic, and I believe that each project is an opportunity for me to learn and grow. While attention to fine detail is the foundation for great work, I also believe that clarity, curiosity, and collaboration are vital for projects to succeed.
Currently, I’m based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I serve as a Senior Product Designer in the M365 Core product design team at Microsoft, a tech company with a focus on empowering every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more through technological innovation.
As I move forward in my career, I look forward to continuing to collaborate with talented and inspiring people across the globe to create meaningful products and experiences.
